1．该说 at present，不可说 at the present，in present 或in the present。但 for the present 里必须有 the。at present 是“现在”，for the present 是“暂时”。

3．It is a present 通常作“这是人家送我的礼物”解。It is his present 通常是“这是他送我的礼物”。难得是“这是我送给他的礼物”。

4．说“把……送给（某人）”有下面的四种说法：
He presented a book to her.
He presented her with a book.
He made her a present of a book.
He made a present of a book to her.
注意 present（动词）很少有双宾语，如很少说 He presented her a book。

5．形容词 present 往往用在名词的后面作“到场的”或“出席的”解，如 those friends present（那些出席的朋友）和 There are other people present（还有其他出席的人们）。
